Stan Fields Cicero Biography

“I am humbled and excited by this appointment,” Fields said after the vote. “I look forward to doing my part to take College to even greater heights in academic success.”

Fields was selected from among four finalists from a pool of dozens of highly-qualified candidates, said Anthony Martinucci, board president. The long process to find the right candidate paid off, though.

“I am excited about this new chapter for Morton College,” Martinucci said. “I know he will make an excellent leader for College.”

Fields received bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Tulsa. He later earned his PhD in education administration, also at Tulsa, while also serving as a principal in the Tulsa Public School District. Since then, he has served as an education administrator in both the South and Midwest.

Morton College is on a slippery slope of losing its accreditation, and its president and director of operations are placing at least part of the blame on the school’s attorney, Michael Del Galdo, a source close to the situation told West Cook News. “They   ( Morton President Stan Fields and Director of Operations Frank Marzullo) told the (Higher Learning) Commission that Mike del Galdo oversteps his bounds as an attorney, that he is too involved in the day-to-day operations of the college,” the source said.
